It's the perfect time of year in my native North Texas to camp out on beautiful Lake Texoma....for some hootin' hollerin', marshmallow and wiener roastin' toasting good cheer. The camaraderie... it's all good. But what I crave the most... WATER.
Whether it be by noodle…
tube…
free float…
Air Mattress…
or canoe…
I want water! I think I was a fish in a former life.
The Guadalupe. Dang, wish I could still wear a bikini.
I constantly crave the food, fun and laughter of our family camping trips on a river or lake somewhere...
Even the rain doesn't dampen our spirits…
…neither does a teen's mood swings…
Despite all the work involved…
…living out of duffle bags and ice chests…
…cooking outdoors {stay tuned for how my Dutch Oven experiment turns out this weekend}…
{Beer-butt chicken is a family favorite.}
…helping family members when needed…
…brushing your teeth wherever you can…
…Hanging wet clothes on a clotheslines to dry…
… and outdoor dish washing…
…..This...
…is all worth it…
Ahhhhhhhh…..
The work isn't the hardest part to do...
Leaving is.

Oh man!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid my dad got three weeks of vacation every year. And we spent the entire three weeks living in a tent at the lake. Those were some good times. I love the water, too.
Enjoy the view, the water, and the family!
